GENERAL ENGLISH

Course Overview

The General English course integrates the four macro skills (Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking) with grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. This approach provides students with the knowledge and the cultural understanding to succeed in a variety of contexts in an English-speaking country. Each of the skills requires the development of strategies that help students approach situations where they need to use their knowledge of English to communicate.

Future English currently offers Intensive English at five(5) Levels:

  • Elementary
  • Pre Intermediate
  • Intermediate
  • Upper Intermediate
  • Advanced
General Information about the Course

Entry requirement:

Students will be required to undertake placement test in prior to class level allocation

Study Level:

5 Levels (Elementary, Pre-intermediate, Intermediate, Upper-Intermediate and Advanced).

Learning Mode:

20 hours face to face on campus learning per week

Attendance:

A minimum of 80% attendance is required (for student visa holders).

Level Completion:

10 weeks

Holidays/ Breaks:

Maximum 10 weeks

Course progress:

A minimum of 50% or greater must be achieved in assessments to demonstrate satisfactory course progress (for student visa holders).

Assessment methods:

Formative and summative assessment apply at all levels of learning.

Course Award:

All students will receive a certificate upon successful completion of their course.
